Case study: Get notified when your website is suspended or domain expired
There are lots of cases where your website can be suspended by your host (hacking, non-payment …). This can not be done intentionally, but if you don’t know about it, it can hurt you bad:
- clients won’t be able to access your website
- you can loose SEO rankings
I like monitoring all the backlinks I get (either by PR or my connections) so I can keep the relationship alive.
This can be really useful when a website is suspended or the domain had expired.
What I do in this situation is contact the website owner and let him know about the problem.
They usually thank me and I maintain my current relationship with him.
A good tip is to monitor a link from your website to an external site. This way you will get notified when something is wrong with your website.
