How To Get More Traffic To Your Website
Have you reached a point when nothing new works and you cannot increase your daily traffic? There’s no need to despair, because there is always room for improvement. I am going to show you 11 new things you can apply today, and get more visits to your website or blog.
Getting lots of new visitors is useless if you do not provide valuable content and they will not return. Before you start considering getting more traffic, make sure your blog is worth visiting, and it provides high quality information. Without any further ado, let’s get down to the things you can do to get more traffic.
1. Write quality content
Think about the new user experience. If a visitor comes to your website for the first time, the only way to make him come back is by providing the right answers to his questions. Do this by writing very detailed content that is helpful and useful. Here are several tips to consider:
Write long step by step guides and offer your visitors better information than the one provided by your competitors.
Write new content every few days. If you want people to return to your website, give them a reason to do so.
Make sure all your links are working fine, and you don’t have broken links inside your content. The user experience must be flawless.
Don’t set a limit to your article length. There are no minimum words you should write. The longer, the better. Always read your articles twice, and think of what your visitors can learn from your posts. One of the biggest mistakes bloggers do is to concentrate on the length of their articles, more than on the quality.
Use screenshots and related images to increase the user experience.
2. Make it easy to share your content
Now that your articles are screaming to be shared, you will have to give your users an easy option to share your posts on social media. If you are using WordPress, you will have numerous plugins available. Some of the most popular ones include:
If your articles provide value, they will earn shares naturally. You can also ask your visitors to share your content.
3. Make it easy to subscribe to your new articles
Getting new visits to your website is a good thing, but making them come back is what your main goal should be. This is how you can build a community and a popular blog.
Always give your users two options to subscribe to your new content:
a) Email Newsletter – Only share your best articles, otherwise some might unsubscribe. To collect email address, you can use Opt In plugins. Some of the most popular ones are:
To send newsletters, you can use MailChimp or Aweber.
b) Social Media – Add widgets on your sidebars and ask people to follow you on your social media channels.
4. Write guest posts on popular websites
Guest posts are a great way to get relevant traffic and exposure to your website. These are some of the things you should consider when writing guest articles:
Write only for authoritative websites from your niche. Don’t waste your time with those that have no traffic and no authority.
Don’t do it just for the sake of SEO. Even if you get a nofollow link, as long as it will send traffic, that’s all you need.
Always link to your social media profiles in the author bio so others can follow you. You will earn new followers that will eventually come to your blog or website.
Write high quality, just as you would for your website. Your reputation is in stake.
Promote your guest articles the same way you do with your content. If your article does well, and gets traffic, you will be invited to write again.
5. Check what your competitors are doing to get more traffic
Always be one step ahead of your competitors by spying their methods to get traffic. Subscribe to their newsletters, follow them on social media, often check their new content, and use Monitor Backlinks to get all their new backlinks to your email inbox. Knowing what links they earn can help you understand what are their best traffic referrals, and what backlinks helped them to achieve high results in search engines.
If you want to know more about spying your competitors, read my previous article I wrote here.
6. Get higher rankings in Google
Another way to get more traffic is to improve your SEO strategy. If you want to rank higher in Google, you have to earn or build backlinks from highly authoritative websites in your niche. To find new backlinks opportunities, check what your competitors are doing in terms of SEO, and replicate their strategy.
You’ll have to do many tests and see what backlinks have the most value for your website. Once again, use Monitor Backlinks to easily determine how your new links influences your search engine rankings and your traffic received from search engines. 7. Ask influencers to share your content
Add links to influencers from your website’s content and then ask them to share your articles. Because you made them a favor by linking to their website, they will feel obligated to share your content on social media, or link back to you.
8. Write attractive headlines
Great headlines can increase your click through rate from social media and search engines. Make your titles attractive and worth clicking.
9. Be friendly and funny
When you write articles, do it in a friendly manner as you would talk to a friend. People love to laugh when reading tutorials or something useful. This will help you create a relationship and get more comments on your posts.
10. Promote your content everywhere
Once you wrote a new article, try to promote it everywhere possible.
Post it on social media
Ask your friends to share it
Do email outreach to people that might be interested in your content
Contribute on communities and forums
11. Build relationships
Try to communicate and engage with those that have shared your content on social media. Reply to any question or comment you get on your posts. Always be helpful.
Want more traffic to your blog? Build a website that’s worth reading. Create a community on your blog and become the authority in your niche. Check what your competitors are doing for SEO with Monitor Backlinks and try to outrank them. What other methods are you using to get more traffic?
Writing quality content should be our prime priority! Because, it has many advantages. It acts like sugar, to which bees, that is traffic in our case, is attracted! What say? Further, if influencers happen to see an epic, good quality post from our side, then they may end up sharing it even without us asking them to do that!
Personally, my strategy is to target low competition keywords and write good content based around it. I also do my fair share of social media promotion too.
Making it easy for readers to share content on social sites is a good strategy. If the content is good enough, users will share it for sure and hopefully trigger a ripple effect! This will bring in some traffic for sure!
Good read! 🙂 I actually found the link to this article on Kingged.
You nailed it on the head regarding guest posts. Even if you get a NOFOLLOW link, focus on direct traffic. If I might add one thing: FOCUS ON BRANDING. Be credible. Add real value. Eventually, you can get more users from places that publish your blog posts due to your solid brand.
Great tips… age old. These days its all about value really.. gone are the days where crap, content ranks…
